Unit 6: Integration 2 - Math and Science
I adapted these lesson plans from Perpectives Unit by Carol Froese. The whole unit is available below.
Lesson 1:
Students will explore perspective in a simplistic manner, using a horizon line, and a vanishing point. They will create a simple shape or block letter and attach all vertices to the same vanishing point using a ruler.

Lesson 2:
Students will write their name or another word in block letters above, below or around the horizon line on a sheet of paper. They will choose a vanishing point and attach all vertices of the letters in their word to this vanishing point using a ruler. Students are free to then using shading or color to enhance their creation.

Lesson 3:
In the third lesson, students will use the skills gained in the first two lessons to create a scene with buildings. They will choose a horizon line, as well as a vanishing point and use these to draw their buildings in perspective. All lines on the buildings will 'connect' to the vanishing point. Students may choose to incorporate other items in their drawing, such as trees, vehicles, or people taking care to pay attention to the distance that these objects are from the vanishing point (objects closer to this point will appear smaller than those farther from this point).

I chose to incorporate the following unit on Quilt Making because I love to sew, and look forward to the opportunity to teach a CTS home-ec unit at some point. Although this unit does not include lesson plans, it has some great ideas as to how to incorporate quilt making into other subjects. I especially liked the idea of incorporating this unit into a social studies unit based on each students family history.
